There an estimated that 1 in 5 persons in the United States has some form of disability. Most  of you know, or have a family member with a disability. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed by President George H. W. Bush in 1990. Inits s infancy, it basically required large businesses to install handicapped parking spaces close to the door, and required municipalities to install ramps on sidewalks.  The ADA continues to evolve by using more technology.
